A “high school football dream” has turned into a nightmare after his football coach called him “a liar”.
A video has gone viral of the young boy who is believed to be from Northampton, North Carolina, calling the boy a liar.
The footage, which was filmed at a high school in the state, shows the boy speaking to the teacher before being asked if he wanted to play football.
“If you wanna go to high school, you gotta tell me, he says in the video, which is a clip of the boy sitting in a chair and making the gesture that he made.
“He was so disappointed and he was so angry, he didn’t understand. “
He just said I’ll play football,” the boy said.
“He was so disappointed and he was so angry, he didn’t understand.
He didn’t know what to do.
He had no confidence, he was scared.
He was like a zombie, I guess.”
A video of the student has been shared hundreds of times and has been viewed by more than 50 million people.
But after speaking to a local newspaper, the boy has now gone missing.
The man behind the video is a former high school football player who claims he was asked to film the boy.
“I’m just trying to help him, he’s in pain, he wants to do something,” the man told local news station WNCN.
The school has now stepped in to help the boy and is offering support.
“They want to give him the help he needs and help him move forward,” a school spokesperson told ABC News.
“We don’t know if he will return to school or not.”
Local news site WNCNT.com reported that the boy’s family has asked the school to “please help” him.
“As a parent, I want to help our child,” he said in the recording.
“My family is doing everything they can to help me.”
It has been reported that many other high school students in North Carolina have reported similar incidents.
