Juventus beat Serie A side Laval 2-0 on penalties after their 1-1 draw in the first leg of their quarter-finals with Swansea City.
The hosts had already lost the game 2-2 on aggregate thanks to a late Paulo Dybala goal.
Italy scored twice in the opening 15 minutes but the result was 1-0 in favour of Wales.
The Bianconeri had their second goal from their own penalty spot after substitute Alessandro Matri scored in the 74th minute.
Matri had been booked for a foul on Gianluigi Buffon in the area but was given a yellow card.
Laval, who had won the last two games, started with five players in the starting lineup after losing two-time European champions Inter Milan to Napoli.
Juventus have won six of their last eight league matches and are in third place in Serie A.
Wales have won just two of their seven league games, having also drawn twice and lost four of their past five.
