(AP) High school students at LAFayette High School have been talking about a new high school in Austin for years.
Now, the students of Arrow High School in Lafayette, Indiana, say the new high-school will be the next logical step in their journey.
Lafayette High Principal Matt Withers told ABC affiliate WLS that the students are “pretty excited” to announce the school will open in early 2019.
“It’s a really exciting time for us, and I’m really excited about it,” WitherSays.
“It will be a place for kids of all ages, both kids and adults.”
Lafayette High School was named the second-best high school to attend in the U.S. by the New York Times, and is currently ranked No. 4 on its list of America’s Best High Schools.
The school was named one of the best high schools in America by CNN.
In a statement, the LAFayettes school district said it is “excited to welcome this new high educational facility and will work with the city of Lafayette to make sure this is a success.”
