A batch of California high school graduates will attend the University of California, Berkeley’s law school this fall.
The students will graduate from the school’s law faculty in 2019, according to a statement released by UC Berkeley on Friday.
The law school is the first law school to open in California since 1978.
The graduates will enroll at the school in 2019.”UC Berkeley is home to one of the most innovative and progressive law schools in the country, and we are honored to be able to offer our students a transformative law degree,” UC Berkeley President Janet Napolitano said in a statement.
“Law school graduates are among the best of the best, and their work and impact will be felt for years to come.”
More than 100 graduates will start work at the law school’s newly opened law offices in 2021, with the next batch to graduate in 2024.
The first graduating class of UC Berkeley Law graduates, who were selected through a lottery process in April, will graduate in 2021.
The school will continue to offer its JD, MBA and B.A. degrees, but students must take a combined law and accounting coursework.
