WEST VIEW, Texas — It was a big day for Westview High School.
The high school announced its graduation of a record 454 students, with an enrollment of 1,945.
Westview has seen a steep rise in enrollment over the past year.
The school’s graduation rate was 78.7 percent in 2015-16.
That is up from 76.9 percent in 2014-15.
Westview also has seen an increase in student achievement, with a student-to-student ratio of 1.27 in the 2015-2016 school year.
In addition to graduation, Westview students were awarded the “School of Honor” trophy for the highest academic achievement, according to the school.
It also was recognized with a special achievement award by the National Center for Achievement in Achievement.
Westvale also received the “Best Place for Boys” award for “outstanding achievement by boys in school.”
The school also received a “Best School in Texas” award.
WestView, located in Westview, Texas, was founded in 1961 by parents Robert and Mary Czepin.
The family is known for its high school football teams and football coach.
Mary Czepsin is the daughter of the late John Czppe, who also founded Westview.
